Our founder, Tomoko Ota is a passionate advocate for traditional Japanese crafts and handmade goods from Japan. With over 25 years of corporate experience, she transformed her lifelong passion and hobby into a business venture centred around Tsumami Zaiku, a traditional Japanese craft utilising upcycled yukata fabric. Her goal is to spread the beauty of Japanese craftsmanship

Tomoko Ota has received two awards in Osaka, Japan, for her contributions to sustainability and cultural preservation. worldwide.

She is regularly invited to speak at business and entrepreneurship events, where she brings to the stage her personal story, entrepreneurial wisdom, and a deep commitment to keeping traditional craftsmanship alive and relevant in the modern world.
